about

X.

The seagulls exchange glances and fly away. Ophunji, in a multi-media surveillance room next to his office, has been watching Scambot and Kootch on a series of numbered “Seagull-Cam” video monitors.

A red phone labeled “M” glows and beeps noisily; Ophunji picks it up and speaks. “Quaigo! How are you, Corporal? Yes. Yes. Yes...doubt...yes... drinking...despair. Yeah! It’s all good. Send them in, forthwith. Thank you, Quaigo! Ahmmm. Saturday? Badminton? No. Ahmmm..no. Sunday? Ahmmm. No.”

The underlying drone was recorded at
The Rec Room – Lyle Workman’s studio
– in 1999, engineered by me with Lyle’s assistance. I played the rest at Chatfield Manor, engineered by Mike Harris, in 2008.
