Originally called “Prawna,” this song is about a meditating shrimp. Decided against the punny title and changed the shrimp’s, and the song’s, name. The main riff popped out while I was recording something else with the Framus guitar, with low open-C tuning, that Devin Townsend gave me in 2019. I didn’t record to a click because I was just experimenting, but then I edited together my favorite chunks into a “structure” and that became the “song.” I then sent that stitched-together “form” to Ted Morton, drummer from the band Pet Shark, and he had to navigate all my insane, click-less tempo shifts, which he did heroically. The other instruments and the vocals were by me. Probably the densest track on the album, and the one that gave me the most trouble mixing. I could probably have gone on tinkering with this tune for the rest of my life, but I got tired of keeping you waiting on the album.
lyrics
Stars blazing freely
Praying on a moonbeam
Help me get my thieves out
Growing as I breathe out
(Playing on
Playing on)
I call them, I am them
Spinning, we go on in tandem
I spot the plot and seize it
It’s growing as I breathe it
(Those are the thoughts of Lana
Smooth, meditating prawn, a
Crustacean
Breathing on)
Walk, and vote for none irate
Who stalk and coat the hearts that hate
Beseech the soul of this organic prawn
She lives in one kind of hue
But when she gets there
It’s static tinted blue
Just seconds away from the burst
It’s the thirst of this small, tannic prawn
So, wave! Shrimp, wave at the stars prone to blazing!
We exist before an atom does!
Om!
Rinse and repeat as needed
All oughta do as she did
A truth you can believe in
Secluded as we breathe in
Star-child free...
This fertile sky is home to all
This fertile sky is home to all
This fertile sky is home to all

Mike Keneally has been a lot of things in his 35 year career: stunt guitarist/keyboardist, singer/songwriter, orchestral
composer, producer, music director, painter, and more. After getting his start in Frank Zappa’s legendary 1988 big band, Keneally released his first solo album hat. in 1992. Since then he has released dozens more and is working on a new double album.
This recording makes a great workout companion! All tracks exercise my mind while I'm power walking the hills where I live in Massachusetts. Keeps the feet moving for my daily 3 miles. Thank you MFTJ and all Keneally music. rondidonato
I have been a huge fan of the great MIKE KENEALLY for many years. He is such a brilliant talent! I’m really really enjoying the latest MFTJ album a great deal. “What Wally Thinks” and “I Remember When Candy Bars Were A Nickel” respectively are a perfect one-two punch to open up an album! I’ll be enjoying this one for a long long time!! Danny Cavazzi
